Stuart Duggan Memorial Scholarship

Every so often in life you come across an initiative or charity which strikes a chord and you feel compelled to give it your fullest support. This is how we at Doubloon Villa feel about Treasure Beach Foundation and, in particular, its Stuart Duggan Memorial Scholarship.

Stuart Duggan was a very special person and a lifelong friend of ours who touched the heart of all those who met him. He was born in Birmingham, UK, becoming a well-respected civil servant who carved a successful career in politics.

In 1997, he sought a new challenge and moved to Treasure Beach, falling in love with the place and its people, marrying Shirley Genus at Doubloon Villa in August 2005.

On April 13th 2006, Stuart shocked us all with an untimely death from a heart attack. The Stuart Duggan Memorial Scholarship, in association with Treasure Beach Foundation, has been set up by family and friends to honour and celebrate his life through the gift of education.

Launched in 2007, and complementing the work of Treasure Beach Foundation, the Stuart Duggan Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student graduating each year from the Sandy Bank Primary School in Treasure Beach.
